What is a Blockchain exactly?

A blockchain is a set of transactions arranged in a series of blocks. A set of transactions packed together is called a block; a series of blocks is called a blockchain.

To put it simply, a blockchain is a series of transactions done by individuals in their addresses with the cryptocurrencies they own. Each transaction is permanently recorded on the blockchain to prevent future disputes and increase transparency.
